Nine Days in New York

Three days of gesture drawing at the Art Students League, a day in the rare book room at the New York Academy of Medicine, four days in the anatomy lab at Weill Cornell, and a last day at the Met. I went for the anatomy. What I found there was mostly an absence, and what I was actually after turned out to be about a square inch of four-hundred-year-old paint.
